Our Story

     Hi I'm Marlene, the maker behind Mowyen Soaps. 

   This brand began during a quiet season of soul searching, when i felt called to slow down and reconnect with myself.  While visiting a local craft fair, I came across a booth selling handmade shampoo bars. That moment sparked a deeper curiosity one i didn't expect. I began learning how to make soap and quickly fell in love with both the process and the sense of purpose it brought. 

    What started as a small act of self-care became a creative ritual rooted in patience, intention, and self-trust.  Mowyen Soaps is where skin meets serenity, with every bar handcrafted to honor the beauty of everyday rituals. 

  Behind the Name. 

     The name Mowyen holds deep personal meaning to me.

    Mowyen was a nickname I was given growing up as someone who is half Chinese and half French in a small town where I stood out.  Though simple, it stayed with me as a quiet reminder of identity and belonging.  

     When it came time to name this business, that name kept resurfacing.  What once felt like a small, private part of my story had grown into something I fully embraced calm, creative, and rooted in purpose.  It felt like the right way to honor both where I came from and who I have become. 

     The Mowyen Soaps logo reflects that journey, blending strength and softness through the letters "MS" and the silhouette of a woman. It represents femininity, resilience, and grace.  

     To me Mowyen means serenity, self-discovery and intention. Today it stands for handcrafted soaps and essentials created to help others feel nurtured, grounded, and at home in their own skin.
